Why does Dr. George W. Carver believe a school garden can promote a student to think?

I will take a stab at answering this question. No one but Dr. George W.Carver trully knows what he meant by this statement, but I think of a school garden as an outdoor science lab. It’s a place where students can learn how to grow food, but also a place that will change as the seasons change. These changes in the seasons, bring different insects, birds.
How does rain affect the garden? What seeds to plant?

When and where to plant them? Is it too much sun for that plant?

With all these questions and so many doesn’t it make you think of not only the school garden, but more importantly our relationship with planet earth!
