Now celebrating its 9th year, Oakland Carnival operates with the mission to present Caribbean music, dance, food, African Diaspora culture and community wellness as uniting platforms. We strive to be a major catalyst in restoring health to our community through the Arts, with expanded wellness, greater fitness, thriving longevity and abundance.
Oakland Carnival is a multi-generational, culturally diverse, family-oriented and free festival.
Oakland Carnival is Oakland’s premier Carnival event. Live performance on three cultural stages: the Latin Zone in the Ampitheater, Carijama Vibes in the Meadow and Axe’ Drum and Dance in the Wellness Pavilion. Each area is being intentionally curated for community engagement while showcasing the strengths of the African Diaspora Carnival Arts with music, dance, and artistic uplift.
Community Ties
Oakland Carnival and Wellness Festival 2023, is a community festival hosted and presented by SambaFunk! with the support of the City of Oakland Mayor’s Office, California Arts Council, San Francisco Foundation, African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council, Deeply Rooted Initiative and a host of community curators are working diligently to offer the best Carnival experience on the West Coast.
This years festival will take place on Saturday June 3rd in historic Mosswood Park in Oakland California. Its a great day of free family fun that attracts a culturally diverse audience.
