The Familyhood Handbook written by David N. Roach

The purpose of the Familyhood Handbook is to give a general overview of what the vision of Familyhood is according to David N. Roach, co-founder of The Familyhood Connection inc aka The Adventures of Hotep. The Familyhood Handbook consists of various articles or frequently asked questions one may have to better understand what Familyhood is. Therefore, if one reads The Familyhood Handbook straight through, cover to cover, some of the content will be repeated. Alhough repreated, usually it is stated in a difffent way each time, to define the vision I call Familyhood and its “do now” strategy 1st Saturdays. During this very critical time of school closures and gentrification, a diffferent model for community development that starts and ends with the people in the community controlling their own destiny is the purpose of The Familyhood Handbook. I am not saying that Familyhood has all the answers to all the problems schools/communities, what I will say is that Familyhood is a systemic approach of developing community, for the community. The Familyhood Handbook is written as a resource guide for interested parties to work together to empower their school and its surrounding community.
