The Familyhood Handbook, written by David N. Roach gives an overview of his 20 year, systemic, inter-generational approach of utilizing schools as the center of a communities development.
Familyhood is driven by two motto’s: 1) Every school shall have a functioning Student Government Association, Parent Teacher Association and Alumni Association and 2) Every school shall have a garden, a farmers market and a grocery store.
The goal of the schools are to produce *Alumni/ Alumnae.
Familyhood’s philosophy – The More Alumni/ Alumnae a community produces, the more developed a community will become.
*Familyhood defines Alumni/ Alumnae as graduates who return to mentor/support the school’s Student Government Association.
