Pan African Film & Arts Festival Celebrates Black History Month: Oscar Micheaux
This February, we pay tribute to Oscar Micheaux, a remarkable figure in the history of Black cinema.
With over 40 feature-length films to his name, Micheaux made history as the first African American to produce a sound film with “The Exile” (1931). His groundbreaking contributions continued with “Betrayal” (1948), which became the first African American-produced film to open in white theaters.
Join us in honoring this visionary filmmaker and his enduring impact on the world of cinema.
